For this assignment, we were required to write a 5-paragraphed expository/argumentative essay on our own through references from books or the internet. This was to evaluate our knowledge and ability to research information to support the arguments, point of views and opinions for the essay. This was a learning process for us to learn how to cite the sources of information and to also provide a list of references.
3 tasks were given to us :
1. In some countries young people have little leisure time and are under a lot of pressure to work hard in their studies. What do you think are the causes and effects of this condition? Plan your response, and then write a cause and effect essay.
2. Write a compare or contrast essay about any two traditional houses of your choice.
3. Identify the steps involved in producing an attractive sketch. Then, write a process essay to describe this process.
The tasks I chose was ; number 1 as it was more relatable and understanding as it has been an issue in this time era.
(The front cover and pre-writing are situated at the end of the slide)
Reflection : As I enjoy writing, and stating facts I did enjoy writing this assignment and giving my opinions regarding this issue. It broadened my way of thinking critically as well as I had to give my opinions. I definitely learned a lot while writing this essay in terms of research and understanding as well.
Learning outcomes :
++
Assignment 2 : Oral Presentation
For our second assignment, we had an oral presentation. We - as a group had to make a video (oral) presentation that lasted 5 minutes. The video was based on us talking about any famous architect. The architect we chose was Ms Shila Prakash. Mainly because her designs are very distinctive and different from the rest.
Reflection : It was without a doubt, odd to talk in front of the camera, but the more you practise through the errors you make, the easier it becomes. I definitely had fun doing this oral presentation as I've learned how to make impromptu sentences as well. I've learn that during oral presentations, it isn't all about memorizing the facts and it is more about understanding what you want to say and what you know.
Learning outcome :
communication skills.
Digital literacy.
Interpersonal skills.
